Buckner’s started with a vision to serve people good food. Mr. Buckner, along with his two sons and their wives opened the doors to Buckner’s Family Restaurant in October of 1980. Most of the recipes were just “family recipes”, which really meant they just cooked to taste like they did at home. All the while keeping the backbone of the business focused on Christian morals and Biblical principles.

Since then, Buckner’s has grown slightly in size and greatly in customers, but the basis has stayed exactly the same. We do not advertise, but rather rely on “word-of-mouth” to do the advertising for us. Our customers are our greatest form of advertisement and have allowed us to not only succeed locally, but also created a huge following with the out-of-towners and travelers. Travelers sometimes even schedule their trips around out hours of operation. The international crowd seems to find us as well with their hopes of finding some “True Southern American Food”. Buckner’s has also had their share of famous faces slip in and grab a plate full. The foyer wall is lined with the 8x10’s of many well-known personalities. The wall also humbly displays some of the awards, honors, and recognitions that Buckner’s has been privileged to receive, such as Georgia’s Best Fried Chicken, and Atlanta’s Best Country Cooking.

We start each morning making everything we possibly can from scratch. All of our meats are brought in fresh and fried, roasted, or smoked on site. Our signature chicken is cut and prepared in our unique style daily. Our customers have allowed us to serve around 100 tons of chicken breast per year.

Buckner’s is now in its third generation, with the whole family still working together to make the restaurant and Experience that everyone remembers, with unforgettable food and unmatched hospitality.
